In my mail box yesterday: two beautiful handmade notebooks, made from hand-recycled paper, each page slightly different, with petals and leaves embedded in the paper. A gift from [info]calla_s. Thank you - they are wonderful! I will save them, I think, for poetry.

That was *quick*. I mailed on Thursday. I kept meaning to make a post sometime over the last few days, saying that the package was on its way, but Aus Post beat me to it.

The little one was the prototype, but I decided to send it too, in case it would be useful. While I was pleased with the appearance, I wasn't entirely sure how practical that sort of book would be. Poetry sounds like a good idea, so I'm pleased that you can think of a use ;)

The plant material is largely native, grevillia, bottlebrush, and blue statice. Plus peppermint tea leaves in the purple speckly pages (I don't think any of the smell stayed - nor from the coconut soap I happened to be adding to the pulp (soap and starch apparently helps texture and writeablity)).
